Aug 19, 2013 Hello, So GarageBand came preinstalled with my iMac as it apparently does with all iMacs. I have the '11 6.0.5 version. When I opened the app for the first time, I must have chosen not to download the extras. According to my little brother I don't have the full version. Against my better judgement, I am letting him loos. When I got the Mac it had Garageband on it, but in order to get my other software installed I had to get OS X up to date. Then run the GarageBand '11 installer. It is at that instance that GarageBand becomes unresponsive and so I have to force quit the app with “⌘+⌥+esc”. I had already downloaded the new loops and reindexed all my loops. Before the update, I had no issues with GarageBand. IMac MID 2011 27inch 16GB memory 10.11.6 El Capitan.
